Mr Basalumi has 13 years of work experience of which 11 was with First National Bank Botswana (FNB), Digital Banking Division. He is currently employed by Botswana Digital and Innovation Hub (BDIH) as digital innovation manager. Mr Basalumi holds a BCom Degree majoring in Business information Systems and Finance, PRINCE2 Practitioner Cert, postgraduate certificate in enterprise risk management cert and management development program cert from the university of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
During his time with FNB he was responsible for overseeing the development of the digital banking products being ewallet, banking app, mobile and online banking. In his current role he is tasked with facilitation and catalysing the growth of the digital economy in Botswana and within the BDIH network by advancing content development innovations, digital skills development, clustering of digital/ICT companies and creating suitable networking platform for the sector to foster collaboration between academia as well as public and private sectors.
