He (°1966) has been active in the education sector since 1989 with Televic, initially consulting and selling language training and interpreter solutions in Belgium and other European countries. Later, the integration of new technologies and solutions for online and offline training, coaching and assessment worldwide. Today, Dirk Verbeke leads projects in Africa, an integrated solution for training and testing students in smart classrooms and in the cloud.
Projects in Kenya and Ghana implemented in the last decade (>500 smart classrooms) and on-going negotiations with governments to explore opportunities in Rwanda, Ivory Coast and Senegal have led to an important initiative with Botswana Government, BITC, MoE, MoEntrepreneurship (and with possible funding possibilities).
First exploring what is already in place to add value with the new education technologies we did develop so far.
These experiences, expertise, do’s and don’t’s, pitfalls has been interesting topics at other recent e-learning conferences such as recently in Dakar Senegal as keynote.
Since May 2023 I have been elected as the new president of the Belgian Chambre of Commerce CBL ACP having members of >150 Belgian companies actif in Africa in different sectors.
