I am Shafiq Adam and I am the Operations Director at Chloride Exide Botswana. Having graduated with an LLB Honours Degree at The University of Leicester (UK) in 2007, I then joined the Chloride team as the Works Director; I was instrumental in the implementation and management of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. I was responsible for the improvements of all battery manufacturing related processes to ensure their compliance in accordance with environmental and safety standards.
As the Operations Director, I am responsible for manufacturing resource planning; marketing and purchasing. I work very closely with senior management in developing long-term operational strategies to ensure the company is able to operate effectively and efficiently. I have well over 15 years in the battery manufacturing industry.
I feel honoured to be part of the Chloride team that has been recipients to many prestigious awards in the areas of manufacturing, investment expansions and export, namely the esteemed Grant Thornton/BITC Private Business Awards.
In my spare time, I enjoy many recreational activities in particular fishing, playing golf, squash, tennis and family excursions.
